Fifth Grade

Crews, Cheri

Welcome to Mrs. Crews 5th. Grade Class.

Osprey is known for its small class size and the fifth grade is no exception. What an exciting class, with top-curriculum for Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We also offer high-technology skills with the uses of computers in the class and weekly computer classes for each child. That’s not all!! We have P.E., music, and Spanish twice a week.

We stay very busy in our small class and have a lot of fun. On November 21, 2006 we took a field trip to our local Lagoon to study sea life on our Florida shores. Learning comes off the pages and becomes real as each student gets to wade out with their nets and catch fish and other sea creatures from the shores of Florida. Seeing the sea life in their natural habitat helps the student to learn about the sea animals with hands-on experience.  Our class caught a sea horse, it made the day!

Learning hands-on has been proven to be a productive way children of all ages learn. There is plenty of hands-on learning in our class.

If you walked into Mrs. Crews room you would see a new currency being used. Our class uses Crews Dollars which are used to buy things the students want they receive them by being active and productive in the class. This is a fun way to teach economics on a fifth grade level.

So, if you have a fifth grade student in your home we welcome them to our class. Come join us!

Thank you,

Mrs. Crews
